Messi returns to Barcelona Training Ground Barcelona star player Lionel Messi declared his decision to not leave FC Barcelona and soon after was seen driving to the training ground of the club for the first time.
On Monday he arrived at the Clutat Esportiva in Sant Joan Despi at 4:00 p.m. IST. He was along with his coach Ronald Koeman. For now, Messi is waiting for his coronavirus test, once cleared he could also join other group members but till then he will have practice solo.
In his interviews with Goal, the superstar said that he will continue to give his best for Barca in spite of acknowledging defeat in his bid to depart for free.
Messi is 33 years old and tried to go because he wanted to live the last years of football happily. He blamed the club’s president Josep Maria Bartomeu for breaking his word and forcing him to stay.
It won’t be easy for the embittered captain, given some of his closest teammates are likely to depart. Luis Suarez, Messi’s best friend and neighbor, as well as Arturo Vidal, are expected to join Juventus and Inter Milan respectively.
Messi says he doesn’t know will happen now or what the future awaits but he will start his training under the new coach of the club. He said that there is a new coach with new ideas, which is good but he will have to see how the team responds and will the ideas be good enough to make them compete at the top level. He has assured he will be giving his best to Barca.
However Messi’s drawn out pending stays in vulnerability as he still has the opportunity to converse with different clubs in January and leave without paying the clause money when his agreement terminates on June 30.
It would be their first-ever match with Gimnastic after their historic 8-2 defeat by Bayern Munich in last month’s Champions League quarter-finals.
